I wish I remembered more of my childhood, what I do recall is how much we played outside, either on the street or further afield in the woods and open country. The day trips to Newhaven and holidays in Devon and Wales are easy to recall because they were not an everyday occurrence.
It seems to me that children now are awash with material objects which do not necessarily mean they are happy. The happiest children I see are playing outside with friends, exploring, getting grubby working out how to relate to others.
