Cricket, Curtain Road
"what if we let children play out on the streets again"
Street cricket was popular when I was young, find a wall to draw the cricket bales on and you were away, or not in my case. We would play out most of the day only returning home briefly for food or drink. Children now miss out on so much, time with nature is often not on their to do list yet it is the most important thing for them to have, if they do not know nature - how will they want to protect and nurture it.
The graffiti on the door shutters is by Stik (http://stik.org/) a Hackney artist, I moved the graffiti poodle up the road a little so that I could include it. The boys are from a Google Image Hunt, the boy with the cricket bat reminded me of Duki, a family member who has recently had 3 of his tracks played on BBC radio.
