You can see Blickling lake and a little section of Blickling Hall Norfolk in this painting. I was one of the directors of an independent company running the Hobart Gallery so spent a lot of time there, it is very beautiful. The dog/wolf and llama are from drawings made at the Sainsbury Centre in Norwich and I also used a sketch of an imaginary toy. The girl is holding a milagro, a painted aluminium or tin votive object, they are used to aid prayers for those who are ill or have died, eg. if someone you loved had a bad leg you would buy a leg milago.
In the 80's we used to "bunk in" to Blickling Hall at night, not the building just the grounds.
It is a magical place where you feel you can touch the past.
