Christmas from my childhood, ah the BIG tin of Quality Street and wanting to have all the large purple ones with soft caramel and hazelnut; not possible of course when there are 5 children, plus adults. I loved all sweets, from Sherbet Flying Saucers that made your eyes water when they burst in your mouth to Scotch Tablet Fudge and everything in between, soft caramel in chocolate has always been the pinnacle of sweet heaven. This Christmas it will be a box Thornton's you get a lot less sweets than in a tin of Quality Street and that can only be a good thing; I consider myself lucky I don't have diabetes. Siblings is a work in progress. It's been waiting until I knew where I was going with it and had found a way to get all 5 of us into the composition I'll be seeing the New Year in painting this, a good way to set up 2016. |
